Sweet! I think he was playing with a MV amp (2203 likely). So you want more drive (slightly more) and slightly brighter. You were probably using the tone knob on your guitar to tame it a but, which is terrific, but not too low. Well done! I too love that intro. You are pushing me to re-listen to it and learn it as you did… it’s always good licks for solos!
Louder an brighter, I think you’re right. Although my tone knob was full way round (it always is). I was using a cheap wireless system, and a small mixing desk, I’m think that might have coloured the sound too. Unfortunately I only have a 15W Laney, so I cant get that Marshall sound. But I’m happy its close enough…. for now.
I’ll try harder on my next one. Been trying to play like Angus sound for 22 years now! This site and all your youtube vids are a magical find for me. Thanks everyone.
