If u have ever watched AC/DC live in london 76′ in Wimbledon theather u can see that Malcolm’s guitar is a little bit out of tune ! Its exactly as how he plays it in this video so he is not out of tune, of course if his idea was to sound like the early live performances of the song and recordings π
Ah. It’s just that old thing. π
He is not out of tune.
Angus, Malcolm and Cliff are the ones out of tune. π
Their guitars were flat when they recorded the song (either that or the tapes were slowed down) π
By the way, this performance is really tight! π
10*
Gretsch + Marshall Plexi = Awesome!
As far as I can tell, they have used either standard tuning (A is 440Hz, bass string is E), or tuning the frequency of all strings down a quarter step (A is 427.5 Hz, bass string is midway between Eb and E), or half step (A is 415Hz, bass string is Eb). Long way to the top is the oddball one (bass string is F).
Usually when playing along I can spot the pitch difference and re-tune, but it’d be useful to have a ‘cheat sheet’ with tunings for different songs, and save some time π
A “Cheat sheet”? Well…That would be really hard since EVERY Bon Scott song has a slightly different pitch. O.o
I mean… This would be only useful when playing along to the original records.
