29 Aug The “Cool YouTube Cover” Post
Also, another I’d like to submit to your attention is “cool” (as in, nice performance, great players, good cover, great sound, interesting equipment, etc.) YouTube videos. Not only YouTube, can be any internet video actually.
Let me start off with THESE guys: they are Super 400, featuring Greg Martin here:
There’s another one, slightly less video quality, still rocking OUT MASSIVELY.
THIS is how GREAT bands used to sound like in the old times. Loads of feeling, technique which is not meant to show off or impress you on its own, but it is simply transparent, and it used as a mean to transmit and communicate to you. Thank God – or add here your belief or lack of thereof – people like these still exist. This is by far the best clip I have seen in years.
You can post your own favorite ones – including yourself if you think it’s worth attention by the public here – in the comment boxes by means of the “video response feature”.
I will be updating this one when proper “cool” ones catch my interest.
What is the purpose of this post, you might wonder? Why, it’s obvious: to inspire us to play more and better, naturally!
Have fun,
SD

Posted at 09:54h, 30 AugustSorry forgot to add this to my last post the Zakk Wylde sound took ages to get right especially the WAH, not having that much experience using one plus I added 11’s on the ZW Les Paul. Talking about strings i used t use 9’s until getting the Angus VOS wich quickly converted me to 10’s. proving strings really do help your tone ๐

Posted at 09:37h, 30 AugustInteresting section Fil. I have been reading some of the stuff in the other section about tones etc. I have posted a video response on here, its a video I did last week doing something a little different. The purpose was to try and achieve a Zakk Wylde tone and adjust to some of his playing styles. I have found a strange combination for a pretty damb close Angus Back In Black Tone. I used the Malcom Mcthunder tone in guitar rig 3 but added my Boss Blues driver into the loop I was just messing around and couldnt believe my ears LOL. I will email you a recording of the tone. Seems like a little patience and some tinkering around pays off LOL. just got guitar rig 4 have a play now ๐

Posted at 08:55h, 26 AugustYeah she’s cute (and a GOOD bass player). They’re actually all pros (professionals) in a way or the other. All of them have a record out at least ๐
The guitar – the black one, the one Greg Martin plays – looks to be a Les Paul Custom. I seem to see Alnico pickups. Might be a “real” ’50s, knowing a bit Greg Martin. The other guitar should be a vintage Les Paul Junior
