The Schaffer Replica Tag

04 Dec A sly look into the shop part I: Gold Tag parts arriving

Dear members,

while the Gold Tag case parts are getting their paint job, the electronic parts for the Gold Tag arrived in the assembly shop. Shop owner sent us a few photos for first impressions to share with you all. In case you are scratching your head why there are so many different electronic boards: the Gold Tag contains 3 different boards: Main, Front, Rear.

Enjoy!

04 Dec The First Schaffer Replica™ Prototype Gets Final Looks.

Dear SoloDallas.com Members & Schaffer Replica™ Customers,

we are pleased to show you our first ever working Prototype – the first working one that was accepted, months ago – with updated looks. While the box is a “real”, SVDS box (actually, a PRO63 box, which is even older), the internals are our current generation of Schaffer Replica™ GT Edition analog circuits. The graphics are our own Jake Yergert’s official GT Edition Graphics, and the re-work done on the prototype has been performed by an exceptional technician named Dr. Vincenzo Padula.

This is the very first Schaffer Replica™ prototype that sounded like the real thing, and got accepted by SoloDallas for general production. It dates back to early 2013.

25 Nov Current State Of The Schaffer Replica Development – Gold Tag Version and Pedal – Part V

Dear Members,

long time no update. but now we have a big one:

All parts, PCBs, cases, everything needed for the Gold Tag production is ordered, and the cases and the PCBs are already in the works.

Also, Mr. Schaffer spent some elbow grease in 100 autographs on polished brass plates for the Gold Tag versions and our trusty member Headwhop (Jacob Yergert) made the labeling print designs for both the Gold Tag and the pedal.

We expect being able to start the Gold Tag delieveries in mid December, in “first come, first serve” order. 25 Gold Tags are still available at the time of writing.

18 Nov One Schaffer Replica™ & Eight Les Pauls

I.e., “testing the TSR™ on Les Pauls as well”, basically.

Because – yes – it’s not that the SVDS was only used with Gibson SG Standards, naturally. It was used much with Les Pauls as well.

An example of it – where I even clearly recognise the SVDS sound – is in this Kiss’ live video:

Please note: for the latest updates, please scroll down to the bottom.

Well, I’m happy to be able to officially announce that Mr. David Allen, me & myself (Solo & Dallas) are working actively together to bring you a new pickup to sound… as it should.

Microphone Types & Placement: Left, Shure SM57; Right, original 1960s Sennheiser MD421. These microphones are a “classic couple” for Rock & Classic Rock. This is the combination used to record – for example – Highway To Hell.

For what? Well, typically – knowing me – for Rock ‘n’ Roll. And moreso, it’s supposed to be one of those you can stick or shove into an SG of any kind and make her sound… good. Good reminiscent of what you know. Idea came months ago to friend Billy Rowe of Rock N Roll Relics, that put David Allen and myself in touch to work on this. At the time, the main objective was to choose two pickups for the Angus Model (Rock N Roll Relics “Angus Model”). Billy had chosen one from David Allen’s great line of pickups called the P51, which replicates a 1959 Gibson (the Gibson of those times) PAF.
