rjofig@gmail.comRenato @ Florida; I bought and started learning to play guitar about two years ago, a bit late in life (I am 39). Still a beginner, but motivated and inspired by Fil and other 'bedroom rockers'. I've been posting a few videos here and sound bites on soundcloud, as sort of a logbook with snippets of how my playing (hopefully) evolves, and it may help inspire others who love music to take an instrument, practice, play, and have fun. To contact me by email, my gmail.com username is the same as my username here.

Posted at 23:12h, 02 DecemberNice one mate, good job, loads of energy. I am sure it was a blast! If I had one criticism, quite a few bends sound flat in the end solo, but I don’t envy you. It’s hard enough getting them perfect at home never mind in a live situation!
My tribute band out doing our 1st gig 18th December and I am absolutely crapping it, I’m playing Angus. Any tips???!!!

Posted at 02:50h, 03 DecemberCongrats on getting your first gig, man! The first time must be gut churning!
I’ve never played to an audience myself, and advice is free for a reason π but… I guess you’ll probably be your own harshest critic; the audience will be in the moment and probably have a much lower bar than yourself and will tolerate mistakes that might make you cringe a little if you were to hear it later. Especially if there’s plenty of alcohol to go around π So I guess my advice would be to focus on giving your best energy and not necessarily your best playing.
Good luck!

Posted at 06:18h, 03 DecemberYou are doing the whole schoolboy thing Stevier? Step 1, make sure you know how to duckwalk properly. Step 2, learn to play with your eyes closed because if you are playing Ang, and you want to do it “right”, you never stop moving your head and you need to close your eyes to keep from getting dizzy. Step 3, show passion and play with passion and a lot of it. You have to love the music.

AngusRudd1019

Posted at 21:42h, 02 Decembertoo bad I can’t get the whole SD Community to one of my shows…I think I would s@#t a brick then actually. I would especially be really nervous if Fil was watching
Ant
Posted at 14:28h, 03 Decemberim sure Fil would be routing you on π as would i!
you’ve got balls getting up on stage and doing what you do anyone will respect that π

Posted at 14:21h, 04 DecemberWith that body of yours? Angus would be fucking pissed. π (He WISHes he had a body like yours!). Freaking great. YOU would be nervous? I am watching now. You nervous? π Nah mate. we’re family. And being UP there and playing ain’t NO easy thing babe. And YOU know it. Great. Well done. We all wish we could be doing this. Well done!!!

Posted at 14:41h, 04 DecemberBoom! the man himself has spoken π
SoloDallas
Posted at 14:51h, 04 DecemberAnd I may have just as well farted, I don’t think it would have made ANY difference. We’re all the same, people. Including Angus himself, if he could be here with us (sigh).
Ant
Posted at 15:44h, 04 DecemberTrue but you and Corey are an inspiration to others non the less π
rjofig
Posted at 17:27h, 04 DecemberFil, a fart would have been even more of a boom π
Inspiration indeed when you see people pouring all their energy into it. Wish I could play *one* song like that without running out of breath π yeah, need to sign up for a gym

Posted at 22:23h, 04 Decemberwow, was not expecting to get this much support. Thanks guys! Lol, I was definitely not expecting for Fil to talk sooo highly about my body ahahaha. It is a tough task playing in an AC/DC Tribute Band and many “Angus'” don’t put no where near as much energy and passion into it as they should be. Angus was a wrecking ball pouring his sweat and guts into the stage and his SG.

Posted at 17:20h, 07 DecemberHey there! Why wouldn’t we be supportive? We are all here for the same thing. I’ve got my critics…I’m my own worst critic! Just enjoy it…it’s rock n roll. It’s the only music that moves me across a stage. It’s emotional…as it should be! Keep rockin!

Posted at 21:56h, 07 DecemberVery true Mike.
Stevier
Posted at 22:03h, 07 DecemberVery good point there about the energy he put in. I’m sure it is a good workout. Thankfully this stage we are playing is quite tiny so I will be limited for this one.
AngusRudd1019
Posted at 08:54h, 08 DecemberI’ve played at bars that don’t even have stages, just a corner of the room and I’m all over it π
Stevier
Posted at 21:11h, 07 DecemberMaybe he is here under a different alias!

Posted at 08:56h, 08 DecemberUnfortunately, I highly doubt it….

Posted at 23:15h, 01 DecemberEgggggg, not my best ending solo. I was trying to balance myself on my bassist’s little amp which tilts back. Thanks for posting this though Renato! I will see you in Gville!! If you got anymore, please share em!

Posted at 00:14h, 02 Decemberhey, everyone liked it! I don’t have other videos, next time I’ll shoot more.
AngusRudd1019
Posted at 00:57h, 02 DecemberAlso, side note, I’m usually wireless but I forgot my AC plug for my wireless….The only night I have ever done that.
rjofig
Posted at 02:25h, 02 DecemberAh, I was wondering why were you not on wireless – a couple of times I thought you’d trip. So many things going on the last thing you want is worry where the cord is.

Posted at 21:33h, 01 DecemberWell, I had the privilege to go see them last night (and also to meet member AngusRudd1019 in person, great guy!). Awesome performance by the band, really great show, these guys gave 110%, and the audience had a blast.
Caught some of the ending with my phone; not great quality, but, maybe some of the vibe comes through. Looking forward to the next gig!
