y not? just listen to it theres nothing rock about it. modern day rock is a disgrace if it were up to me id throw all of these bands into the pop category.
Rock changes with the time. There are some good “new” bands that makes good rock. But there’s a difference between rock and rock n’ roll.
Foo Fighters for example got some great rocksongs, but some people refuse to call it rock, and doesn’t even give it a chance. Some of these bands will be remembered for their music in the future, just as the good bands from the 70’s. Maybe not quite as big though.
I prefer older rock too, but I don’t spit on every new band that comes up for that. Give it chance, and if you don’t like it, then leave it. I agree there are many shitbands today that should belong in another category else than rock, but there are some goldcorns to pick up.
Josh Homme is a real pioneer in modern rock music.
His style is very unique. In most Queens of the Stone Age songs the virtuosity of every member of the band shines through in just the right amount. I think that’s what I love about them.
While ive never been a big Queens fan, I love Dean Fertita, mostly because of the stuff he’s done in the Dead Weather, which I am also a huge fan of. Saw him live this last summer, and while he’s not the most interesting guy to watch on stage, he’s pretty flawless and a great keyboardist.
what really blows my mind in this song is the drums, Ive always loved them, even before I knew what good music was.
