see, i’ve got a small marshall class 5 head, 5 watts and still pretty loud… idk if it’s based off of a 1987 circuit, but its still a great amp for only being 5 watts. they based all these off of they’re original counterparts, the jam 45, the jump’s of the 70’s, idk i think one of these would be a great addition. i especially like the idea of the built in boost for the jmp, any input here?

I tried one of those class 5’s in guitar center recently and was not very impressed by it but I think the one I tried had a problem or was damaged some how. Didn’t have much volume at all and was very weak. I think right now one of the best small, low wattage amps you can get is a orange tiny terror. I thought it sounded fantastic and was really natural sounding. With the right overdrive pedal, it could be a monster however these new marshall 1 watts will probably give orange a run for their money.

love the tiny terror! great amp, and yea the class 5 you tried probe had an issue with it man, mine doesn’t have that trouble at all, very loud, very clear. i even tried a combo version before i bought the head and it sounded good as well, but i figured i could get the level i wanted with a 4×12 😛 the orange tiny terror is by far one of the best “small” tube amps for the money in my opinion. extremely versatile with only 3 controls 😛

Sounds killer but the price is kind of a deal breaker.

They sound more than ok… But same sound like a 50 watt or 100 watt? Don’t know it!! Good for bedroom-rcoking. But for bigger performances, I think a bigger wattage is better. And I need the kick from being in front of a loud amp 😀
Does someone knows an exact price? I found something about 800 dollars, that’s like 600 euro’s 😮
I know it’s special for 50th anniversary from Marshall and that they are limited… But for me way overpriced. For some more money u have a 50 watt!!

Yes, I’ve heard the same number, $800 USD or so.

I guess we won’t know until it’s tested by somebody and posted if it’s loud enough or not. Personally, an Aracom attenuator will take all of that and turn it into gorgeous tone 🙂

I think for the size, the ‘prestige’ of having one of these 50th Anniversary, plus the look of one of these sitting on top of a mountain of 100 & 50 watt vintage Marshall heads, it will make a nice addition. Plus, it’s based on a 1987 circuit, so excited to see what the tone difference will between the two.

in Netherlands for 750 !!!! EURO.
      Wayyyy too much !!
100 or 200 EU more and you get a big original 2203 from 1979. 300 EU would be ok for that little amp, even this price is more than enough.
