Cheers,

Hey Franz, Im not sure , but wasnt article epi vs gibson yours? Do you think it’s worth to save up money as below and buy that axe? I got marshall Mg15. To be honest my friends dad didnt let me play that ( why? ?? π Maybe because im not too good so far and he wanted that in one piece :D). If you can just give me your opinions bout that.
Thanks for any help

Hi Pawel, yes, that was my article. I searched around, but I couldn’t find you comment where you said how much the 1970 SG would cost. How much did he want for it?
And well, if he’s really going to sell the guitar he should let you play it. Nobody would drive a car without a test drive, right? You can bring your MG15 to him end try it out while he’s watching you.
When it sounds good, could you shot some detailed photos? Maybe the pro’s out here can have a look at it. You should be sure that it’s really a 1970 SG.
No,no ,no
Franz you didnt understand me! π
I want buy “causual” SG π I was kidding with that 1970, I wrote with Andre bout buying Gibson Sg (casual:)) from my friend’s dad. It would be crazy if I would buy 1970 or any vintage huh. π Btw, He has some guitars, but he prefers les pauls from SGs, as he said.( by the way he plays for 30 years, and I must get some private lessons):D Personally I prefer SGs (AC/DC…..) , and I have to say Im really intereseted in those vintage ones , but Im not specialist in those matters too.
Im not sure but he has SG with vibrola and I dont know colour, but its sth like dark brown, definetely not cherry. Maybe thatone is vintage stuff. I would kill for that guitar!!
Thanks for answer
Btw, mery christmas(bit late…) , but happy new year ( I wish you lots of guitars , amps , and good fun with guitar)!!!!
Merry Christmas! Best Wishes!
Ah. no. It’s still my trusty Standard. I just changed the pickups π
AY on the bridge and an open-coil ’57 classic on the neck
I think it needs some adjustments though. I can’t get a lower action without buzz on the higher frets… π
Ah , I see.
But , have you made any videos with them already or not yet?
Im curious bout that sound. π But dont worry you will fix that! π
Im thinking of saving up some money for gibson sg ( and selling epphone π ). My friend’s dad have lots of guitars and he wants sell his sg, but its used. He says he will take 500 dollars for that. And I want it BADLY!!! But I will think bout that, cause Im pretty close to my Epi(strange). Its not perfect but I like that.
Cheers

I think it worth it! π
After I got my Les Paul (Burstbuckers 1 and 2 on it) I realized how dull and muddy the stock SG pickups sounded.
After I changed them, the SG sounds amazing!
Really more “vintage”, more punchy. The Lead sounds are more clear. Every note sings π
The chords sound much better too!
That’s my opinion π
Hehe π
Well, with a 1970 SG, its different for me. I have a 2009 SG and I love it. Maybe I’ll buy a 1970 SG when I’m able to play some songs completely. For now, I just dont need it.
The AY Signature Pickup costs about 100 Euros, thats totally ok.

Sounds more “vintage”, if you know what I mean π
I’ll make a video with it as soon as I can π

Hmm… well…. You have to try that SG (if you can) and see if you like it enough to sell your Epi. =\
Anyway π

Posted at 22:21h, 26 DecemberOh yes, I can follow this. It too me a long time and hard work to have enough money for my gear.
Well, if you’re really happy with your Epi, I would stay with it. If my Epi was fine, I hadn’t buyed a real SG.
It really seems that I got just a bad one, also Rjofig is happy with his Epi and it seems that he doesn’t have the troubles that I have with mine.
