Mix: 10/10! Its nice and full, I like it
Girl in the video: 10/10! She’s gorgeous.
Solo parts: 7/10. You can tell he’s talented, and I very much like the fact that he didnt go overboard with them– he kept them short and sweet.
Originality: 0/10. I know its easiest to write breakup songs ( I’ll admit I know from experience), but it doesnt contain anything that blows my mind. Especially in the video. Cheeeeesey.
Overall: 7/10. I dont ALWAYS listen to AC/DC or classic rock, and this is usually the kind of music I write, so I like it. I will I could get the songs I play on my acoustic to sound so full and flowy. Well written and well executed, but like I said, it lacks in originality.
haha… Well I’m playing drums in the group, I just wanted an unbiased opinion! Although, this isn’t me drumming… They recorded most of the drums with a session drummer before they met me. Phil Rudd is my main influence (my AC/DC connection to this site ;)). I’m just trying to get as many people’s critique on Cermanski’s style so I can go to him and give valuable input (anonymous of course).
Ah, that makes sense. Im sure you’ll do your part to make those backbeats just as solid as they can be.
He seems like a talented dude and a proficient guitar player, but my only critique are his lyrics and video. Waaaaayyyyy overused. Anyway, best of luck to him.
Now I know that this site is devoted to classic/hard/bluesy rock and this video is totally drenched with that pop/rock/alternative sound but I wanted to see what you guys thought about it. Matt Cermanski is 17 years old and has gathered quite the following in his hometown of Phoenixville, PA (the location of this video). I know his guitar skills/tone is not yet what it could be and hopefully this improves with age and experience. However, what do you guys make of this? Do you see any talent? Also to take into consideration, the song is going to be re-recorded to to off tune vocals/guitars and off-time drums. He’s coming out with an album this summer so hopefully if anyone is interested they will check out the other songs. Also, his uncle plays with the Trammps (hope I spelled that right!). Peace everyone!
