Didn’t know where to post this so I searched for “acoustic” on the site and ended up here. Hope you don’t mind me “gate crashing”
I found this bloke on the internet, http://youtu.be/FheMX8zfMf0
Mark Kozelek and his 2000 ablum What’s next to the moon. Acoustic covers of ACDC completely different, a bit sad, mournful but I quite like them. Makes Bon’s lyrics really stand out.
Pretty good, although from what I’ve seen live Malcolm tends to play the verse lower, using open E chords and D chords.
As for that rock riff (the one in A), I’m not too familiar with this version, but in the studio Malcolm plays the A and D strings open, hammers on to the 2nd fret D string, then accents the 2nd fret on the g string, then plays the A string and D string on the 4th fret, then a straight A chord, then goes back to the A with the D on 4.
Nice job, sir! Need to change your screen name to include Malcolm? 🙂
Hey, I’ve been focusing on the studio version of this one for a week or so, trying to nail the rhythm and solo down. Malcolm does this lick in the D – E transition that I haven’t figured out yet 🙂
The tuning for the studio version is still a bit elusive to me, it seems like somewhere between a quarter to half step up to me. Anyone has a good suggestion here?
Cheers,
Renato
