I'm Blake, I'm 17 and play rhythm guitar. Malcolm younf is my idol, I've looked up to him since I started to play at 12; he's the one that made me think to myself:" I better pick up a guitar"

Absolutely NO criticism here – it’s a thinner sound than through a Marshall, but damn, it’s so articulated, and still has the Grrrlll, to it.

I really love that sound. Clean, but punch and dynamic, lots of clarity. Very very nice.

Sounds like it’s brand new strings too. Am I right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually those strings are like 6 months old, D’Addario Nickel 12’s last forever. Malcolm uses them as well as Gibson Jazz 12’s

Mal uses strings with a wound G string. Very heavy strings. 13-14 probably

I believe Malcolm these days plays like… 14-66. At least live, when they play down tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

This is absolutely the characteristic tone every Mal-Fan wants to have!!
I guess a semi-hollow-boy is the final secret of the tone ๐Ÿ™‚

    It sounds amazing!

Sounds amazingly good. That Malcolm signature Gretsch really got a unique and special sound. It’ls like you can hear every single string ring out. Kinda like a acoustic guitar. Is the body solid or like a semi-acoustic?
