I'm born 1970, a big AC/DC fan since 1982, when I got the "Back in Black" cassette tape together with a little cassette player from my grandpa. Fully classic rock addicted, don't like "modern" music styles like HipHop.
2009 I got a Gibson SG standard ebony, learning to play AC/DC songs from tabs and videos since then.
Beside that, I'm a totally computer addicted guy and Linux Server specialist. Working as internet server and network admin and part-time IT consultant. So, when I'm not behind my guitar, I'm behind the keyboard :-)

Posted at 20:21h, 09 NovemberFranz, any idea when the preordering mail will be sent out π ?
banane
Posted at 21:21h, 09 NovemberI’m just waiting for a few more orders so I can serve as much people as possible at once. I think there will come some more orders in after we published the video we are working on now. Will send them out at end of next week, definitely.

Posted at 06:52h, 09 NovemberThat yellow-lighted plexi is making me hot. π

Posted at 09:31h, 09 Novemberπ We just were out of red LEDs when assembling the third one. But doesnt look so bad too, right? π
Ant
Posted at 10:58h, 09 Novemberwould be cool if the led alternated from green to red the more you boost it π
OldSchoolRocker666
Posted at 16:08h, 09 NovemberAgree completely! That would be an pretty awesome effect to it! π Like tubes that should glow hotter and hotter the more they are pushed to the brinking point up to when they start to fail or something π

Posted at 18:51h, 09 NovemberGents,
May I be the voice of reason for just a moment: color changing LEDs, in theory, sound neat and all, however the circuitry and added time and expense would provide us, the end users, two things: 1) increased cost, and 2) increased wait time.
We’ve all waited very patiently this past year and seen this project come together, one blog post at a time. Let concentrate on the end goal here, which is tone heaven. Not lights π
Personally, I’m too concentrated on my playing to notice anything around me, be it amp tubes, pedals, LEDs etc…
As always, thanks to Fil, Franz, and Markus for their continued hard work – I know we will all bear the fruits of your labour.

Posted at 19:13h, 09 NovemberYes, thats true, unfortunately. Every change on the circuits would add a few weeks and changes to the audio circuit would additionally require prototypes and testings. Basically, the schematics are in the status “finalized” now, so we try to avoid any changes if possible. Work on the pedal version will start by next week, I think.

Posted at 21:22h, 09 November@Franz: No where near bad! It actually suits the plexi more than the red π but that’s just me!
@Ant/OldSchoolRocker: Personally I’d like solid one color only LEDs, unless there was an option to turn off the LED alternation – but like Dash said, so much more time and effort would go into it that isn’t practical. Plus, everyone here would go mad if there was a delay over lights. π

Posted at 22:50h, 09 NovemberLol was just a wat if idea π wasnt fully considering the aspect, we could think of lots of little mods to the replica π simply my head is in the clouds
Spellbound
Posted at 22:55h, 09 NovemberA psychedelic LED mod might be what you’d want (and seeing as how it’s just a regular LED, rather then going by the knobs, I can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to request one). π
OldSchoolRocker666
Posted at 15:39h, 10 NovemberYeah same here and i agree it would be unneccecary and just making extra costs to it overall so it’s not something i would strive for considering the costs and so on but a funny idea though with the lights π

Posted at 06:53h, 12 NovemberLooks great actually! Just want to congratulate you guys for this. I had tried the SECRET-1 Fil recommended and it was great, but I am most excited to be able to use this one. Hopefully I contacted you on time to do so. Really great job guys!

Posted at 21:33h, 08 NovemberLooks so damn cool. I wonder if it will have a noticeable effect when using Guitar Rig?
banane
Posted at 09:31h, 09 NovemberYes, it has. Works with GuitarRig and solid state amps too. There is a post where we demoed it, and maybe we’ll do another GuitarRig demo too.
Ant
Posted at 10:56h, 09 Novemberyay ^^
try out the Lead 800 if you do, i think that Amp is based on the 2203 models π

Posted at 14:37h, 09 NovemberNot yet actually. Just talking and planning next steps. And Markus (tech) got the first metal case prototype today and sent photos, so we talked about small final cosmetic changes too.
Going to the lab later this afternoon π

Posted at 12:14h, 08 NovemberYou know, we could tell you “it’ll come in red, yellow, green… collect them all!”
π
But these are such a classic – even looks wise – that – yes – they make you want to have ’em all for real.
HINT: expect some audio/video tests to be posted in the very next bunch of days.
Fil!

Posted at 06:51h, 09 NovemberJust you wait. These replicas are going to be one of the most sought after pieces of gear some day.
I’m glad I followed the journey, albeit I wasn’t involved with the community for the majority of it, but reading everything as it happened is great.
CANNOT WAIT for the demos! π

Posted at 19:12h, 07 NovemberCool, thanks Franz! I foresee a possible re-paint of my pedal π and then a giant SVDS replica sticker in the middle of the button, that would be really cool.
