I'm born 1970, a big AC/DC fan since 1982, when I got the "Back in Black" cassette tape together with a little cassette player from my grandpa. Fully classic rock addicted, don't like "modern" music styles like HipHop.
2009 I got a Gibson SG standard ebony, learning to play AC/DC songs from tabs and videos since then.
Beside that, I'm a totally computer addicted guy and Linux Server specialist. Working as internet server and network admin and part-time IT consultant. So, when I'm not behind my guitar, I'm behind the keyboard :-)

Posted at 22:41h, 26 JulyHi guys
Been a while ๐ but I’ve been working like f**k on my chops as…Drum roll …. I’m in a band ! Well will be a permanent member late august… Never too late even at 44 years old ๐
Their style is not at all ACDCish, more Blues Brothers with a bit of Stones, Berry, Hendrix and Doobie Brothers thrown in for good mesure.
It’s just cool jamming with other people and first concerts september so I’ve been up most nights leaning the dozen or so songs on their list (my left hand “died” a couple of times; completely numb fingertips ๐
Now summer breaks here things are on stand by, so it’s good to come back here and see whats happening.
Banane me old scalliwag, 2 things.
1) photo for Tshirt. I’m in the starting blocks and
2) I’m still game for the packaging design and all
Drop me a mail if you’ve got a small idea how big the units are gonna be and I’ll cook up a mock up
Cheers to all old and new
I’m off to hone Long Train Runnin’

Posted at 08:10h, 27 JulyHey Frank,
congrats, for the band, mate! Would be cool to see you playing then! ๐
Yes, the new shirts. We have to wait for Fil making a photo shooting. Could be done maybe when he tries the replica in the studio, he’s in front of the camera then.
And I will send you a mail with photos and measurements when we have the first few prototype cases.
Cheers,
Franz

Posted at 08:18h, 27 JulyGreat, I can feel the members all humming in expectancy like a horde of JMP’s all set to 10 and the players right hand poised above his head the plectrum glinting in the spotlight…..

Posted at 23:19h, 27 JulyYeah really lucky actualy the former guitarist chucked everything in to go off making cheese in the Swiss Alpes for 5 months, so the other members were on the hunt and I take the same train to work as the drummer, and the rest is may be history.
Ask around Renato, there’s more bands out there looking for decent rythmic guitarists than soloists than you’d think.
Don’t worry about skill levels or age or what not give it a shot or you’ll never know. Our singers 25, the sax is 50 plus the bass 50 or so drummer 40’s; The skill levels are varied but hell if it works and sounds good it is good. It may not be ACDC or even classic rock but everything you learn will make you a better player. From what I’ve seen you can hold your own and if you add a couple of penta licks to back up the singer (which I know you can do) , you’ll have a whale of a time I promise. When it clicks in and you feel it and you look across the room and see the others can feel it too….

Posted at 02:16h, 28 JulyWell done Frank, couldn’t agree more.
I joined my first band (at 43) a few months back. Everything changes when you play with other people. You always think you need to be better but truth is You are better than you think you are. An hour with other musicians is worth 10 playing on your own. I would recommend jamming with other people as soon as you possibly can, especially if you’re getting on (like me) ๐

Posted at 06:10h, 28 JulySpeaking of age variation in a band, my tribute band is all over the place in age. I’m 17, my dad is 52, our drummer is 38, singer 34, bassist 42. In my opinion and from what I have experienced so far just by being in this band and running this band, the most important thing isn’t the skill but how well everyone gets together. It took my dad and I about one year to find this current line-up and we never complain with each other. We had this one singer who drove us crazy! One of the most selfish and conceited people I have met in my life.It was all about HIM.We kicked him out and now the guy we currently have is fitting in great. It takes time but once you get the right guys, things begin to happen. This sounds like something we should discuss about on the NEW SD FORUM!!!

Posted at 11:58h, 29 JulyWhat do they say about musicians, you know the myth and stereotypes about musicians :D? Isn’t it that singers are self centered, guitarists being snoobish or something, bass players being in ”the way for everyone” and so on? I think i’ve read some really amusing stereotypes and generalizations about musicians sometimes but i can’t seem to remember how it was made like.. Someone here remember the line? It was pretty amusing i remember ๐
Just came to think off it when you mentioned that self centered singer you kicked out.
